CAMP RONALD MCDONALD
March 20-22, 2020
To a child or teenager fighting cancer, summer camp is most often out of the question, because in general, camps are not equipped to be able to safely meet their medical needs. Not so at Camp Ronald McDonald in Garner Valley, CA. They offer kids and teens with cancer and their families the opportunity to have a summer camp experience not as a cancer patient, but as a kid... who unfortunately is impacted by cancer. Camp Ronald McDonald can do this because of a full contingent of volunteer camp counselors and volunteer doctors and nurses trained to meet the campers medical needs while they are in camp.

In order for the small paid staff to be able to keep up with the huge job of caring for a 66 acre camp property year round, and let the summer camp team focus on the kids, Team Ronald McDonald invites volunteers twice a year to visit camp for "Volunteer Work Weekends".September 21-23, 2018, Thrive On volunteers will be part of a volunteer team 80 strong who put in hundreds of hours of service helping get camp ready for the upcoming Fall camp season.

CAMP-A-TUNITY (ONGOING)

Camp can be a life changing experience for kids.
Children develop a sense of independence as they try new adventures away from home. Summer camps provide a safe environment where children gain self-confidence as they learn new skills and have lots of fun!

Unfortunately, for many children in our community, Summer camp is something they will never get to experience because any cost is too much for their parents to bear.

This is where we come in. Through community donations and fundraisers, we raise the money to provide 100% scholarships for one week of summer camp offered to local kids whose parents are experiencing extreme financial hardship. Contact us to learn more about how you can help kids thrive through summer camp.
